Overview

Hebrews 7:11-14 (KJV)

“If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is a necessity to also change the law. For he of whom these things are spoken pertaiineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.”

Some believe the scriptures above tell us we are no longer under the Levitical priesthood authority. However, since the day Aaron became High Priest when his rod not only budded, but blossomed and yielded almonds (Numbers 17) Yahuah chose the line of Aaron through Zadok to minister as priest of Israel forever as mentioned in Ezekiel chapters 40, 44, and 48.

Another witness is Exodus 6, which states that Aaron, from the tribe of Levi, took Elisheba to wife, the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Naashon prince of the tribe of Judah (Numbers 1). both Amminadab and Nashon are listed in Yeshua’s 42 generation genealogy, including Abraham and King David in Matthew 1.

In the “Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs” Simeon tells his children to obey Levi and Jaudah and “be not lifted up against these two tribes for from them shall arise unto you the salvation of Yahuah. For Yahuah shall raise up from Levi as it were a Highe Priest, and from Judah as it were a King. He shal save the race of Israel.”

These witnesses tell us Yeshua is and will always represent these two tribes — Levi, the priesthood and Judah the kingship prophesied by the covent child Isaac in Genesis 17, Jubilees 31, and Jacob in Genesis 49. Yeshua, our Messia and Savior is truly Melchizedek, the King of Righteousness, and High Priest forever. Amein.
